Recipes to Try Out on National Chicken Wing Day

The national chicken wing day usually takes place on the 29th of July. The occasion is meant to celebrate one of the snacks that people enjoy all over the world.

Deep-fried chicken wings were common in the past; however, the Anchor Bar, based in Buffalo, New York, came up with the idea to prepare the chicken wings differently.

The Anchor Bar came up with the recipe that became popular, and their chicken wings would be found at a restaurant known as “Buffalo Wings.” Over the years, chicken wings became popular. To date, chicken wings are a favourite meal for many people.

Chicken Wing Recipes

On national chicken wing day, you can order ready-made chicken wings or prepare some chicken wings at your home. Celebrating national chicken wing day is advisable by trying out different recipes. If you don’t have any recipes in mind, you can try out the following:

Chilli Garlic Wings

The ingredients:

• 1-egg (should be slightly beaten)
• Six chicken wings (prick them first)
• 1 tbsp garlic paste
• 1/2 cup corn flour
• Oil – for deep frying
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp red chili paste
• 2 tsp vinegar
• 1 tsp soya sauce
Instructions:

  1. Mix the ingredients in a bowl and ensure you have added enough water such that all the chicken pieces will be coated with the batter.
  2. The marinated chicken wings should be allowed to absorb the spices for a few hours.
  3. Heat oil. Then deep-fry the chicken wings using high heat. You’ll then lower the heat and allow the chicken wings to cook slowly.
  4. Drain the chicken wings onto absorbent paper and serve.

Honey Chicken Wings

Ingredients:

• 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
• 1/2 kg chicken wings
• 1/2 tsp of red chili powder
• 1/2 an onion, finely chopped
• 1 tsp garam masala
• 1 tsp turmeric powder
• 3 tbsp vinegar
• 4 tsp of lemon juice
• 2 tsp honey
• 3 tsp of lime juice
• salt to taste
• 3 tbsp olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix them well
  2. Cover the chicken wings and store them in the refrigerator for at least two hours.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. Go ahead and sear the chicken for a few minutes
  4. Add honey and lemon juice to glaze the chicken wings. Mix them well.
  5. Cook for at least 8 minutes and then serve.

Classic Buffalo Wings Recipe

Ingredients:

• Two tablespoon of vegetable oil
• Two lb. chicken wings
• salt to taste
• One teaspoon of garlic powder
• 1/3 cup hot sauce
• Freshly ground black pepper to taste
• Four tablespoons of butter melted
• Two tablespoon honey

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Place a wire rack over the baking sheet. Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl and toss the chicken wings. Ensure there is enough water so the chicken wings will be covered in batter.
  2. Transfer the chicken wings onto the baking sheet—Bake for at last 1hour. Ensure you have flipped the wings halfway.
  3. Serve and enjoy your chicken wings.

Honey Whiskey BBQ Wings

Ingredients:
• One tablespoon of vegetable oil
• Six chicken wings
• Two tablespoons whiskey
• Salt to taste
• One teaspoon of garlic powder
• One teaspoon of onion powder
• ½ tablespoon molasses
• ½ tablespoon molasses
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• Chili to taste
• ½ tablespoon molasses
• One tablespoon honey

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Line the baking sheet with aluminum foil. Set the flat wire rack on the top and lightly grease it using cooking spray.
  2. Toss the ingredients into a large bowl and add salt to taste.
  3. Spread the wings into one layer on your rack. Go ahead and bake for 1 hour.
  4. As the wings cook, you can prepare some sauce. Heat some Jack Daniel’s in a saucepan. After it’s hot, you can add onions and some salt. Cook until your onions become soft.
  5. Add some garlic and cook for at least 1 minute.
  6. Whisk in the vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, tomato paste, salt, honey, molasses, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring the ingredients to a boil.
  7. Cook until the sauce thickens; it should take at least 5 minutes. You should stir often.
  8. After the wings are done, you can toss them into the sauce and serve them immediately.

Crispy Baked Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings

Ingredients:
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 2 pounds of chicken wings
• Two teaspoon salt
• One teaspoon of black pepper
• 1 tbsp parsley (should be freshly chopped for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to at least 200 degrees Celsius. Line the baking sheet using parchment paper.
  2. Place the wings into a bowl and drizzle some oil. Each wing should be coated with some oil.
  3. Sprinkle the wings using salt and pepper.
  4. The wings should be arranged in a single layer on your baking pan. Bake for at least 50 minutes.
  5. If you want to garnish, use freshly chopped parsley.
  6. Serve while warm.
