In America, we celebrate many holidays – Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Memorial Day. But there is one holiday that is often overlooked: Juneteenth.

Celebrated on June 19th, Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. This year, why not celebrate Juneteenth by cooking up some delicious recipes? We’ve gathered 20 of our favorite recipes for you to try – from chicken burgers to devil’s food icebox cake!

Nicole Taylor’s Chicken Burgers: These delicious chicken burgers are perfect for a summer cookout!
Ingredients:
• ½ cup finely chopped onion
• ¼ cup finely chopped celery
• ⅓ cup mayonnaise
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
• ½ teaspoon kosher salt
• Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
• ¾ pound ground chicken breast
Instructions:
Combine the onion, celery, mayonnaise, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Add the chicken and mix gently with your hands until everything is well combined. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties.
Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with oil. Grill the burgers until cooked through, about four minutes per side. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.

Devil’s Food Icebox Cake: This rich and Chocolatey dessert is perfect for a summer celebration!
Ingredients:
• 24 double-chocolate sandwich cookies
• ½ cup heavy cream
• ¼ cup milk
• ¼ cup sugar
• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Place half of the cookies in the bottom of a loaf pan. Whisk together the cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Pour half of the mixture over the cookies in the pan, then top with the remaining cookies. Pour the remaining mixture over the top and cover with plastic wrap. Place in the fridge for at least four hours or overnight. When ready to serve, cut into slices and enjoy!

Southern-Style Cornbread: This classic cornbread is the perfect side dish for any summer meal!
Ingredients:
• ½ cup yellow cornmeal
• ½ cup all-purpose flour
• ⅓ cup sugar
• ½ teaspoon baking powder
• ½ teaspoon baking soda
• ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together ⅓ cup of milk and an egg.
