Witch’s Brew is a spooky Halloween beverage that will have your kids begging for more! This drink combines grape juice, lemon-lime soda, dry ice, and dry ice activator packets to create a bubbling witch’s brew for them to enjoy. This recipe does require some adult supervision since it uses fire and boiling water, so make sure you don’t leave the kitchen while it cooks! But rest assured, this witch’s brew is friendly after it finishes cooking, so it won’t create any evil witches!
Ingredients:
· 3 cups grape juice
· 2 liters lemon-lime soda
· 4 dry ice activator packets
Preparation:
-In a large soup pot, combine grape juice and dry ice. Put the lid onto the pot and allow to boil for about 10 minutes or until all of the dry ice has dissolved into the grape juice.
– Remove pot from heat, but leave boiling water on the hot burner where it will stay hot. Add in your 4 foam activator packets and put the lid back on to keep up with pressure inside.
Carefully pour in 2 liters of lemon-lime soda into a tall enough container to submerge the dry ice underwater.
– Then, carefully take the pot of boiling grape juice and pour it into the container that you placed all of your soda in – be very careful as the mixture will bubble and fizz! Allow to cool, then serve to anyone who wants a spooky treat this Halloween!
This Halloween appetizer is adorable for kids and adults alike. The hot dogs are wrapped up like mummies and look like they could spring out at any second! But don’t worry, these mummy dogs won’t snap back at you. They’re quite tasty and make a great snack or lunch option for hungry trick or treaters this Halloween.
Ingredients:
· 1 package of hot dogs
· 2 tbsp cream cheese
· 1 green onion, sliced in thin rounds
· 1 tsp cumin
Preparation:
– Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and set aside.
-Wrap the hot dogs up into mummies by cutting strips of aluminum foil about 6 inches long. Wrap these strips around the ends of the hot dog to get that mummy look.
-Bake hot dogs on a prepared baking sheet for about 10 minutes or until they are heated through completely. Remove them from the oven but leave them on the baking pan to cool down while you make your mummy dip!
-In a microwavable bowl, combine cream cheese, onions, and cumin. Microwave for about 1 minute and stir to combine. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals until cream cheese is thoroughly melted.
-Cut the hot dogs in half and place them on a plate with the mummy dip alongside. Serve these to any trick or treaters who come by your house this Halloween! They’re sure to like these spooky treats more than chocolate bars!
These crunchy little “fingers” are made from sliced French bread, cream cheese, and almond slivers with food dye added to them for color before baking, so they’ll look extra creepy when they come out of the oven. These fingers make a great appetizer or school lunch snack option since they can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before you’re ready to serve them.
Ingredients:
· 4 slices of French bread
· 8 tbsp cream cheese (softened)
· 1/2 cup sliced almonds (or almond slivers)
· red food coloring
Preparation:
– Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup and set aside.
-Slice French bread into finger-sized pieces – you’ll need 4 fingers per serving, so cut your bread accordingly.
-In a small bowl, combine cream cheese and food coloring until the color is evenly distributed throughout. Using a knife or spoon, spread about 2 tbsp of the colored cream cheese onto each finger, being careful not to get any on the sides since that will mess up the “blood” when they come out of the oven. Top with sliced almonds (or almond slivers) for fingernails using one almond slice per fingernail.
-Place all 4 fingers onto a prepared baking pan and bake in preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until the fingers are golden brown and bubbling.
This pizza will look so much like a ghost that kids will be too afraid to eat it! But don’t worry, this easy Halloween recipe is so delicious they won’t want to stop eating! Inspired by the classic Hawaiian Pizza, this recipe uses only 5 ingredients and only takes about 20 minutes to prepare, so you can get your pizza fixed in no time!
Ingredients:
1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade if you’re feeling ambitious)
2 tbsp olive oil
· garlic powder or granulated garlic
· mini pepperonis – divided into thirds (you’ll need 6 for each pizza)
· 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preparation:
– Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
-Unroll the pizza dough onto a lightly floured board and cut it into 3 rectangles or use a large cookie cutter to form perfect circles if you prefer. Lightly flour your fingers before pinching the edges of each circle to create a slightly raised crust around each edge. Set aside, allowing the dough to rest for about 5 minutes, so it doesn’t shrink back when you go to put on toppings. If using refrigerated pizza dough, remove it from packaging at this time and cut them up as directed above.
-In a small bowl, combine olive oil with garlic powder until well combined. Using a pastry brush, coat both sides of each pizza crust with garlic oil mixture, making sure not to leave any clumps behind as they burn in the oven.
-Sprinkle a pinch of garlic powder over each crust, followed by a pinch of pepperoni slices. You can use less if you want to reduce fat and calorie content, but it’s really up to you how many you put on! Top with mozzarella cheese.
-Bake pizzas in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes – they’ll be bubbly around the edges when done. To make a ghost face, using a paring knife or spatula (or your fingers), carefully remove one corner of the pizza crust before gently pulling it away from your unsuspecting ghostly friend! These small openings will create eye sockets for your ghost, so get creative and give him/her/it some personality!
In conclusion, anyone ghoulish enough to celebrate Halloween will need to check out these spooky treats. These recipes are sure to be a hit at any Autumn celebration, and they’ll get all of your friends in the mood for some tricks and treats!
