7 Delicious St. Patrick’s Day Desserts That Are Easy To Make

St Patrick’s Day is observed on March 17. It honors Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. It’s usually celebrated with a mass, a religious procession through the town, and festivities such as Irish traditional music and dancing. Most people wear green clothing and shamrocks to celebrate the day.

Like any other holiday, food is of the essence, and desserts must accompany it to be worth the festivity.

So here are some of the best St Patrick’s Day Dessert Recipes that you can try to celebrate this St Patrick’s day.

1) Irish Chocolate Cake

This recipe is a must-try. It’s easy to prepare, but you need patience because it’s a batch cake.

Ingredients

-180 g all-purpose flour
-270 g sugar, divided -approx.
-150 g unsalted butter at room temperature -1 tsp vanilla extract -approx.
-2 tsp baking powder
-1/2 tsp salt
-1/2 cup cold coffee (strong) -1 cup evaporated milk -red food coloring -For Frosting:
-3 cups heavy cream (unsweetened)
-3/4 cup icing sugar (sifted)

Directions

Preheat oven to 180C. Grease and flour the cake tin. Combine the flour and salt. Set aside.
Beat the butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract and sugar. Gradually beat in the flour mixture and mix until well blended (be careful not to over-mix).
In another bowl, whip the cold coffee and 1/2 cup of sugar into a frothy foam using an electric mixer.
Add 1/4 cup of cold coffee and mix until well blended. Add this coffee mixture to the batter.
Mix in 1 cup of evaporated milk and the food coloring. Pour the batter into the cake tin—Bake for about 45 minutes and test with a toothpick.
It’s done when a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs sticking to it.
Let it cool and frost with whipped icing as per directions on the box.

2) Irish Cream Cake

The Irish Cream Cake is a rich choco cake layered with chocolate frosting.
It’s an easy-to-prepare dessert and is great on St Patrick’s day.

Ingredients

-1 cup flour (sifted)
-1/4 tsp baking powder
-1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
-1/4 cup sweet almond oil (or canola oil)
-2 cups brown sugar, packed
-3 eggs (beaten)
-3/4 cup evaporated milk
Preheat oven to 180C.

Ingredients – For Filling

-1 can sweeten condensed milk (14 oz.)
-1 tsp. vanilla extract
-For the Frosting:
-2 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream (cold)
-1 tbsp. vanilla extract
-2 cups confectioners’ sugar

Directions

Mix flour, baking powder, and salt thoroughly in a mixing bowl. Beat the butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; add oil, beating well.
Gradually beat in the brown sugar, then eggs, and mix well. Mix in the flour mixture alternately with the evaporated milk.
Pour into two greased and floured 9-inch cake pans. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
While cakes are cooling, prepare the filling by combining all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer to whip until firm peaks are formed but do not overbeat or become butter. Let cool completely before frosting the entire cake.
Do not forget to top with Shredded Coconut(optional).

3) St. Patrick’s Day Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Cake with chocolate buttercream frosting is a yummy treat that will surely make your St Patrick’s day special.

Ingredients – For Cake

-2 cups all-purpose flour
-1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (good quality)
-1/2 tsp baking soda
-1/2 tsp salt -2 sticks unsalted butter at room temperature
-1 1/4 cups sugar (powdered, not granulated)
-3 large eggs

Directions

Preheat over to 180C. Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Line the bottom with parchment paper that fits in the pan. Set aside.

Ingredients – For Frosting

-1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
-2 cups icing sugar (sifted)
-3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
-1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Using an electric mixer, mix the butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
Add a little of the dry ingredients from the sifter. Add vanilla extract and beat on low speed until combined. Then add the rest of the dry ingredients. Mix until well blended. Pour batter into the greased cake pan.
Bake in preheated oven for about 20 – 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
Whip together butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract using an electric mixer. Add the cocoa powder and a little water to make it spreadable. Frost cooled cake when ready to serve.

4) Macaroons with Irish Cream Filling

Macaroons are soft and chewy on the inside, crisp on the outside cookies. Here’s a twist to the classic recipe, try it with Irish Cream Filling.

Ingredients – For Macaroons

-1 1/2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
-2 egg whites
-1/4 tsp salt
-1/4 cup powdered sugar (powdered, not granulated)

For Filling

-1 can sweeten condensed milk (14 oz.)
-1 tsp. vanilla extract
-2 tsp Irish cream.

Directions

Preheat oven to 180C. Grind the coconut flakes in the food processor. Blend egg whites, salt, powdered sugar, and coconut flakes until well mixed. Sift half of the flour mixture over the mixture, again mixing until well blended.
Add another spoonful of the flour mixture. Add another spoonful of egg white batter and mix until well blended. Continue to add part of the dry ingredients, again mixing until well blended.
Finally, add part of the batter until it is all mixed. Drop the batter by rounded teaspoon onto parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake for about 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on baking sheets before filling.
Use an electric mixer to combine the condensed milk and Irish cream until thickened and fluffy.
Spread over cooled cookies and store in airtight containers.

5) Caramel Toffee Cake

Caramel Toffee Cake is a soft, tender cake with a warm buttery caramel topping.
It’s one of our favorites.

Ingredients – For Cake

-1/2 cup butter (1 stick) at room temperature
-1 1/3 cup sugar (powdered, not granulated)
-3 large eggs
-2 tsp vanilla extract
-2 cups all-purpose flour
-1/4 tsp baking powder
-1/4 tsp salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 180C. Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Line the bottom with parchment paper that fits in the pan. Set aside. Mix all ingredients for a cake. Pour batter into the greased cake pan.
Bake in preheated oven for about 25 – 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Place the caramel sauce and butter in a microwave-safe bowl, heat on high for 20 seconds until butter is melted, and pour over warm cake. Allow cooling before cutting and serving

Ingredients – For Topping

-1 cup heavy cream (cold)
-1/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
-1 tbsp butter at room temperature Directions:
Blend the butter and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, then remove from the heat, stir in the brown sugar and cream. Let cool before frosting. Spread over cooled cake. Store in an airtight container.

6). Pound Cake with Raspberry Filling

This pound cake is soft, moist, and buttery. It can be served with any sweet meal.

Ingredients: -For Pound Cake

-1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour -1 tbsp baking powder
-1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
-3 eggs
-1/2 cup sugar (powdered, not granulated) Directions: Make Lemon Curd before making the pound cake recipe.

Direction

Preheat oven to 180C. Grease a 9-inch loaf pan. Line the bottom with parchment paper that fits in the pan. Set aside.
Combine all ingredients for pound cake until well mixed. Pour batter into the greased loaf pan.
Bake in preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely before filling.

Ingredients – For Filling

-2 cups heavy cream (cold)
-2 tbsp powdered sugar
-1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Whip the cream until soft peaks form. Then add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
Spread over cooled pound cake.

7). Banana Bread with Caramel Filling

This banana bread recipe is s soft and moist, baked in a loaf pan, like banana pudding. It can be served with any sweet meal.

Ingredients:

-3 cups all-purpose flour
-1 tsp baking powder
-1/4 tsp salt
-2 tbsp vegetable oil (preferably canola oil or unbleached butter)
-3 large eggs
-1 cup white sugar (unbleached)
-2 cups mashed ripe bananas

Directions:

Preheat oven to 180C. Grease and flour a loaf pan 9 x 5 inches x 3/4 inch high.
In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients, then add eggs and oil. Beat until mixture is well blended. Add mashed bananas and stir. Pour batter into the greased loaf pan. Bake in a preheated oven for about 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted between 2 large bananas comes out clean.
Let cool completely before cutting and frosting.
To make Caramel Filling:
-2 cups heavy cream (cold)
-1 cup brown sugar (packed)
-1/3 cup unsalted butter at room temperature

Blend the butter and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat.
Bring to a boil, then remove from the heat, stir in the brown sugar and cream. Let cool before frosting. Spread over cooled cake.
